The US Bans Casinos in the Metaverse from Selling NFTs

The US regulators of four states have issued orders against virtual casino operator Slotie to immediately cease illegal activities.

According to CNBC, the authorities allege the owners of the company have involved investors in illegal gambling activities in the metaverse.

The Texas, Kentucky, New Jersey, and Alabama Securities Boards have accused Slotie of illegally offering shares in the form of selling 10,000 NFTs.

The company is based in Georgia and launched in October 2021. Its website states NFTs “are your ticket to the largest and fastest growing blockchain online casino network.” Assets also provide owners with the opportunity to receive rewards.
