Google has announced a new policy update for digital asset exchanges and wallets in the United Kingdom, requiring them to register with the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) before being allowed to advertise on the platform.
The new policy will be effective on January 15, 2025, according to a recent announcement by the search engine company. Under these updated rules, advertisers must meet specific conditions in order to promote their crypto exchange services or software wallets in the UK.
This includes registration with the FCA to ensure compliance with the country’s financial regulations. Hardware wallets that store cryptocurrency private keys, NFTs, or other digital assets will be permitted to advertise on Google, as long as they do not offer ancillary services such as buying, selling, or trading digital assets.
