The Atlanta Blockchain Center (ABC) has announced its Scholars program, along with the first school they will work with, Morehouse College. The Immutable Scholars program was created by blockchain industry veterans on a mission to educate scholars through mentorship, technical development, and in-depth academic sessions at the intersection of the internet and finance. The program is a semester-long, hands-on learning experience for students on the cutting edge of digital ledger technology.
There are only 10 students accepted per Cohort and it’s open to Atlanta-based undergraduate students with a 3.0 GPA or higher. Sessions are held up to twice per month, alternating between Morehouse College campus and Atlanta Blockchain Center’s Buckhead location.
Along with helping students fast-track their future, Scholars are eligible for a USD Coin (USDC) award for best Capstone project, internship and career opportunities, a large network of individuals ready to support them, and an Immutable Scholars NFT with lifetime access to the Atlanta Blockchain Center ecosystem.In addition, students will complete the Immutable Scholars program with a deeper understanding of blockchain technology and its impact on the future. The program will help them establish relevant business & technical skills, and build a network of peers and professionals to help them along their journey.
Emerging disciplines in blockchain will be covered including cryptocurrencies, DeFi and investing, token economics, NFTs and the New Creative Economy, the evolution of Web 1, 2 and 3, DAOs and the future of organizational structures, regulation, legal and CBDCs, proof-of-work and the effects on climate, and the blockchain trilemma and quadrilemma.
Students must complete a Capstone project to successfully complete the program. They may choose one of the following:
- Creating a single-page Web3 site that interacts with MetaMask by sending a signed transaction to the blockchain;
- Writing a 5-page whitepaper for a project, including an overview, problem and solution, tokenomics, team, and roadmap;
- Creating a crypto-themed company name and building its community channels, including Telegram, Twitter, Discord, Reddit, and Bitcointalk
