Coinbase Approved to Expand Services in Argentina

Coinbase has received regulatory approval to enter the Argentine market, where 5 million people use crypto daily. Recognizing that 87% of Argentinians believe crypto can boost financial independence, Coinbase aims to provide a secure platform for locals to navigate inflation and financial instability.

Matías Alberti will lead Coinbase’s operations in Argentina, driving its expansion in the region. This move aligns with Coinbase’s global mission to increase economic freedom while prioritizing security, regulatory compliance, and user education.

Coinbase has secured a Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) registration from Argentina’s National Securities Commission (CNV), enabling it to operate within the country’s legal framework for virtual assets.

The company will gradually roll out its products in the coming months, enhancing its presence in Argentina through localized services, including Spanish-language support, local payment methods, and dedicated customer support.
