The next generation of Solana’s popular crypto phone series, dubbed “Solana Mobile Chapter 2,” is already generating a great deal of interest almost a year before its scheduled release date.
According to a spokesperson from Solana, the successor to Solana Mobile Saga has already received 60,000 preorders in just under three weeks. Solana’s co-founder and CEO Anatoly Yakovenko expressed excitement about the overwhelming response to Chapter 2, stating:
“The response to Solana Mobile has been incredible. Since Chapter 2 was announced, we’ve garnered over 60,000 preorders and created a dedicated community of users.”
The announcement for Solana Mobile Chapter 2 was made on January 16, offering a more affordable option for users to own a physical phone with built-in crypto-supporting software. The Chapter 2 wallet is priced at $450 and is expected to start shipping in 2025.
The first iteration of Solana Mobile, Chinese Mobile Saga, was initially revealed in June 2022 with a cost of $1,000, which was later reduced to $599.
