Changpeng Zhao, the founder and CEO of Binance, has become the leader of Forbes’ ranking of the richest people in the blockchain and crypto industry.
According to the publication, there are now a record 19 billionaires in the industry.
With a fortune of $65 billion, the Binance CEO ranks 19th in the list of the richest people in the world. According to Forbes, he owns a 70% stake of the largest crypto exchange in terms of trading volume.
FTX’s CEO Sam Bankman-Fried, last year’s leader, is in second place in the ranking. In January, the crypto derivatives exchange raised $400 million at a $32 billion valuation. The personal wealth of the entrepreneur himself is $24 billion.
The third position in the classification is for the CEO of Coinbase Brian Armstrong with a net worth of $6.6 billion.
