Changpeng Zhao, founder and CEO of cryptocurrency exchange Binance, has recently been ranked 19th on Forbes’ list of the richest people in the world.
Forbes experts estimated Zhao’s net worth at $65 billion. In recent years, the Binance CEO has made great strides. For example, in 2021, Zhao ranked 1,664 with $1.9 billion in capital. In 2019, he was an honorable 1,818 on Forbes’ list with $1.2 billion.
Jumping to 19, Zhao has surpassed many prominent billionaires, including Dell Computers founder Michael Dell and Charles Koch, head of Koch Industries. Zhao’s stake in Binance is estimated by Forbes to be at least 70%, which is also significantly higher than it used to be, according to his earlier interviews with the magazine.
In January last year, the Binance CEO told Forbes that he owns about 30% of Binance:
“I really don’t know how much money I have. It doesn’t bother me too much.”
