Billionaire Mark Cuban has spoken about the potential of non-fungible tokens in the book industry in an interview with Forbes.
According to him, schoolchildren and students are constantly buying new or used textbooks. At the end of the course, they have to solve a dilemma.
He has said:
“You make a decision: yes, I’m going to sell them textbooks. How can I sell them? Should I send them? Or take it to a bookstore? This is just a headache in the digital world.”
The NFT market will allow not only students to return the money spent on the textbook, or at least part of it, but also authors and publishers to get their share of repeat sales. This is not possible with physical books.
Cuban believes that NFT technology will also make the health insurance industry more efficient and fair.
