Russian users of LocalBitcoins have started to receive notifications from the platform that it will soon leave the country.
The exit from the market is associated with tougher sanctions against Moscow.
Within the framework of the new sanctions package, the EU authorities have banned crypto wallets and exchanges registered in the jurisdiction of Brussels from stopping servicing users from Russia.
Now the LocalBitcoins platform, which is very popular with investors from Russia, is also joining the sanctions regime.
The emails sent to Russian users say dual nationals, including those of Switzerland and the EU, will be able to use the service as usual.
